Activity feed service is returning a 403 response

Hi Community,

We were using the activity service, /activity?maxResults=9999&streams=issue-key+IS+${issueKey}&streams=key+IS+${projectKey}, to retrieve the issue activity feed, requesting that as an addon.

However, in the last few days, we are receiving a 403 (Forbidden) response without any change from our side.

I’d like to know if this service was changed or any other vendors have met with problem.

Cheers,
Mário Ferreira.

Hi @MarioFerreira,

Is it possible this is a question for the Jira Server category? If it is for Jira Cloud, can you please provide a link to the API as I’m not familiar with it.

Hi @dmorrow,

This service can be called by a Jira Server or Cloud instance, we have used this service for a long time.

An example how to call this, you can try on your Jira Cloud instance (changing the issue key and project key): mjvf-xporter.atlassian.net/activity?maxResults=9999&streams=issue-key+IS+DEV-1&streams=key+IS+DEV

When calling this on the browser, I can retrieve the feed but on the app now we are receiving the forbidden response.

Mário Ferreira.

Thanks @MarioFerreira,

I’ll see if I can enlist some help.

Dugald

Hi @MarioFerreira,

The Jira engineers have confirmed that this is not a supported API.

Hi @dmorrow,

I understand, in that case we cannot continue to use that API.

Which alternative do we have to retrieve the activity feed?

Mário Ferreira.

Hi @MarioFerreira,

It depends on exactly what you need, but perhaps GET /rest/api/3/issue/{issueIdOrKey}/changelog will suffice?
