Ambiguous terms?

I currently have two free apps on the Atlassian Marketplace.
Now I am in the process of placing my first paid app on the Marketplace.

I have noticed that there are various terms that are not always entirely clear to me. (https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/marketplace/become-a-partner/)

Terms:

  • Vendor
  • Partner
  • Marketplace Partner
  • Marketplace Partner Program (Gold, etc.)
  • Partner with at least one paid app.

So far, I suspect the following:

  • Vendor = Partner = Marketplace Partner
  • Marketplace Partner Program: Partner with special requirements (Bug Bounty Program, …)

Can anyone help me confirm or correct this?

You’ll see app developers refer to themselves as a partner or vendor. I prefer vendor.

Atlassian refers to everyone as a “partner” which gets confusing because:

Solution partners sometimes also have their own marketplace apps and they can be resellers of your apps.

Marketplace Partner Program is basically a badge program: meet the requirements and get a silver/gold/platinum badge next to your vendor name in the marketplace.

Oh and this lol: Changing our terminology from “products” to “Atlassian apps”
