API request for user properties

We would like to store metadata against individual Confluence users, in order to record when onboarding tasks have been completed.

In Jira Cloud, we use the user properties REST API, but it doesn’t exist in Confluence.

Is there an alternative, or can you build a new API for us?

Yes, we should be encouraging an API such as this so that data can be associated/attached to the correct parent entity (in this case user).
