I built an open-source CLI called bitbucket-jira-cli (command: `bj`) and wanted to share it here. Full disclosure: I’m the author.

The idea is simple: bring the GitHub `gh` workflow to Bitbucket and Jira. `bj` manages Bitbucket pull requests, repositories and pipelines, and Jira issues, from one command tree that mirrors `gh`. If you know `gh pr`, `gh issue` and `gh repo`, you already know `bj pr`, `bj issue` and `bj repo`.

The part I actually built it for is branch-name-as-Jira-key. Your git branch carries the key (for example `feature/PROJ-42-thing`), and `bj` uses it automatically. `bj pr create` fills the PR title from the ticket, links the PR to the issue, and moves the ticket to In Progress. `bj pr merge` moves it to Done. No copy-pasting keys between tabs.

A few other notes:

- It talks to the REST APIs directly, so it works in scripts and CI, and there is no server to run.
- Bitbucket Cloud and Jira Cloud, with a scoped or unscoped API token for each.
- It ships an agent skill, so AI coding agents can drive it the same way they drive `gh`.

Install:

```bash
uv tool install bitbucket-jira-cli # or: pip install bitbucket-jira-cli
```

`bj auth login`

I’d like to hear where the current commands don’t match how you work. Feedback and issues welcome.
