# BLOG: How to build complex Forge apps using Custom UI

Hello everyone,

Codegeist 2021 was a rollercoaster ride for us. I learned a lot of things and wanted to share some of the learnings with the community.  
I’ve written a blog post titled ‘How to build complex Forge apps using Custom UI’. In this blog post, we cover all the custom UI functions. I also take inspiration from this [Styling modal with CSS for Forge Custom UI](https://community.developer.atlassian.com/t/styling-modal-with-css-for-forge-custom-ui/49372) thread and breakdown the inner workings of the modal function.
