"Create version" for Confluence cloud app

Hi,
This is a question on the usage of the “Create version” button on the marketplace app management page https://marketplace.atlassian.com/manage/apps/XXXXXXXXXX/versions .

My app is a Confluence cloud ACE based app. I know that the app version changes automatically if I do changes in atlassian-connect.json. This is described in https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/marketplace/upgrading-and-versioning-cloud-apps/ .

What is not clear to me is how I should manually update the app version. The “Create version” button leads to a form with 3 options, which in turn lead to different forms. Is there any documentation on this manual upgrade process for cloud apps?

Hello !

For Cloud apps, you don’t have to use the “Create version” button. Once a modification is detected in your hosted atlassian-connect.json, an entry will be automatically created few minutes after by “Marketplace Hub [Atlassian]”:

Just click on the version link to edit the release information (summary, release note, …).

Note: In your App Version list, Cloud versions are listed after Server and DataCenter version

hope it’s help !

Hi @clement_garin ,
Thanks for your reply. I do understand that a change to atlassian-connect.json automatically changes the version.

However there is also the possibility to change the version manually. I do not completely understand how that works, and there seems to be no documentation for the manual upgrade process (at least for cloud).
