# Do Forge App Development and Testing Environments Require Payment or Have Different Pricing?

While developing a Jira Forge app, we use multiple environments such as **development** , **staging** , and **production**.  
Do we need to pay any Atlassian or Marketplace fees for the **development** or **staging (testing)** environments, or are charges applied only when the app is deployed to **production** and published on the **Atlassian Marketplace**?  
Also, is the **cost or pricing structure the same in development/testing environments as in production**?

Hi, forge platform pricing and charges are applied at an app level and all environment usage is considered in it. The total usage across all environments is considered for the app cost.
