Forge App fails on custom Jira domain with origin error (Message received from invalid origin)

Hi Atlassian team and fellow developers,

I’m running into a problem when trying to use my Forge app on a Jira Cloud instance that uses a custom domain. The app works perfectly on standard Atlassian instances, but fails on the custom domain with the following error in the console:

Error: Message received from invalid origin: https://dev.jira.appforge.ai
    at t.checkOrigin (global-bridge.js:2:158908)

:red_question_mark: My question:

  • Are custom domains supported for Forge apps?
  • If not, is there a workaround or ETA on support?
  • If yes, how can we register or authorize a custom domain as a valid origin for postMessage communication?

Hi Adrian,

Yes custom domains are supported on Forge.

Best bet is to create a support ticket so you can share more details of the issues faced and your custom domain instance: Jira Service Management

Please provide in your ticket; app AI, trace ID of issue and the Jira instance.
