Is there any way to make an inline-edit field in Forge?

Hi community!

I’ve developed a plugin that creates custom field types. The main problem is that when a user is clicking on the field, a modal window appears with controls in it.
Is it possible to make this field editable like default Jira fields (without opening these modal windows)?

Currently it is not possible. We are working still on improving create issue experience with Forge and we will take your opinion into account.
