If you haven’t had time to test Jira 8.6 yet, you have more than enough good reasons to do it now. Have a look at all the bundled features (a full list is available here) and then feel free to download the EAP from this page.
If you’re using maven.atlassian.com, make sure to download 8.6.0-m0003.
As you remember, we’ve test-released rate limiting for Jira Data Center in EAP 01. EAP02 contains some fixes and improvements for this feature in response to feedback we’ve received. Read more about the feature in this post.
Should you have any comments, just post them below.
The Jira team
Hi @mmichalak -
Thank you for this note.
Can you share with us an approximate release date for Jira 8.6? With holidays over the next 6 weeks, it would be helpful to know when Atlassian is planning to release.
We are currently addressing some release blockers with 8.6. We are aiming to release before Christmas, but it could be delayed due to the holidays, depending on how long it takes to address the blockers.
With the new process, we will give you a release candidate and 2-3 business days heads-up before the 8.6 public release. (I just posted a note about release process changes here - https://community.developer.atlassian.com/t/jira-server-and-dc-release-process-improvements/34009)
Thank you for guidance on the 8.6 release. We’ll bump up the priority on the EAP testing so we can be sure that we are ready in case it ships before Christmas.
Thank you again for the new release candidate process and early notice.
