Jira 8.9 EAP 01 is out

EAP releases provide a snapshot of our work-in-progress and give you an opportunity to test and fix your apps before the final release. Now, with this EAP, you can start testing Jira 8.9.

The main feature of this release are the new options to monitor your Data Center cluster. Have a look at the details here. Feel free to download the EAP from this page .
If you’re using maven.atlassian.com , make sure to download 8.9.0-m0002.

Should you have any comments, just post them below.

Happy testing,

The Jira team

Thanks for the heads-up @mmichalak!

We’ve added more info to the Cluster monitoring page available in Jira Data Center. Now, apart from viewing the ID, and uptime information, you’ll get the node status (active, no heartbeat, offline) and Jira status (maintenance, error, running, starting). You can use this data to track and remove stale nodes and fix the failing ones in your cluster.

Is this info/page backed by an API/SPI by any chance? I’m not looking for anything official at this point, but would love to explore options to automate node management for AWS based DC deployments for example.

Hello @mmichalak ,

Is that the last 8.X release?
Will 9.0 introduce a major API change in the frontend?
Code warnings indicate that most API will be removed in 9.0.
If that is true what is the timeline for the release?

Cheers
Przemek

Hello!
To look up node status, you can use an official REST endpoint at Jira 8.8.1. The application status for each node is available for that node at /status endpoint.

Hey Przemek,
that’s definitely not the last 8.x release. We are still planning on releasing several more.
