Jira json import rest api

Is there any documentation on the json importer rest api ?

I can post data to rest/jira-importers-plugin/1.0/importer/json , but

a) how do I know when the import is finished
b) how can I cancel an import (if you try and import again, you get the message "errorMessage: ‘Import is already running, please abort current request or wait until it’s finished.’ } ")
