MCP for Bitbucket DC has been released!

As part of our AI enablement goals in Bitbucket Data Center, we’ve been working on an MCP server for Bitbucket DC. Today it’s released!

Now you can connect your AI agent to your Bitbucket Data Center instance. We’ve built tools for your agent to work with projects, repositories, pull requests, and code.

The plugin is supported for both Bitbucket 9.x and 10.x.

We’d love to hear how it goes. Please share any feedback you have for the team!

Admins can also control which REST endpoints are exposed as tools, with a mcp-tools.json whitelist file in BITBUCKET_HOME/shared/. If you’re expecting a lot of agent traffic, we recommend turning on rate limiting.

Where can i get it?

MCP for Bitbucket DC is shipped as a bundled plugin as part of Bitbucket 10.5. Otherwise you can find it on the Atlassian Marketplace.

How do I set it up?

Once the plugin has been installed on your Bitbucket DC instance; you can add the MCP server to your preferred client.

  "headers": {
    "Authorization": "Bearer <your-token>"
  }
