Hi, Developer Community! 👋 The first EAP for Jira 9.7 Data Center and Server is ready for testing.

Highlights:

- **Deprecating API endpoints for accessing avatars and issue attachments**
We’re deprecating several API endpoints related to Jira attachments and avatars. These changes are made as part of a major update planned for Jira 10 — introducing the support of Amazon S3 to store attachment and avatar files, instead of keeping them locally in the `<sharedhome>` directory. As we stop supporting deprecated endpoints in Jira 10 or earlier, some features may no longer be available or may change. We encourage you check the upcoming changes to the API and start preparing your applications in advance.
- **Performance improvements on jira-agile pages**
Going forward with the [Jira codebase optimization](https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracore/preparing-for-jira-9-2-1155149623.html), we’re introducing another batch of updates to make `jira-agile` pages faster and more performant. With all of these changes, we’re building a foundation for further client-side performance improvements. **Note:** These updates contain some breaking changes, make sure that you prepare your apps in advance.
- **Backbone library upgrades**
As we proceed with Jira performance improvements and security updates, more Jira-bundled apps get newer versions of Backbone and Marionette. **Note:** These updates contain some breaking changes, make sure that you prepare your apps in advance.
- **Enhance your approvals with comments**
We’re refreshing approvals in Jira Service Management and adding a new feature. Approvers will now see a transition screen after they select **Approve** or **Decline** on a request. They’ll be able to leave a comment explaining their decision on this new screen.
- **New settings for Groovy scripts in Assets**
With our updates to the Groovy script settings, Jira system admins can now choose who has access to the Assets script console.
- **Performance improvements in Assets**
In this release, we tackled the first subset of a series of performance improvements we’re planning to ship. The main focus of these improvements is Assets imports.
- **Accessibility improvements for low-vision and keyboard-only users in Jira Service Management**
This release contains more accessibility fixes for our screen reader and keyboard-only cohort to improve their experience and ability to perform basic tasks in Jira Service Management.
- **Guardrails for Jira Service Management**
In an effort to give you more information about getting the best performance out of your Jira Service Management instance, we’ve recently published our [Jira Service Management guardrails](https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/jira-service-management-guardrails-1209864606.html).

**Downloads & docs**
For details, see [Preparing for Jira 9.7](https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracore/preparing-for-jira-9-7-1206565730.html). You can download the EAP from [this page](https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download-eap). If you’re using [maven.atlassian.com](http://maven.atlassian.com/), the version is 9.7.0-m0005.

If you have any comments, post them below.

Happy testing,
The Jira Server and Data Center team

Is the EAP02 the final version or there are more changes planned?

Thanks for reaching out to us!
After the EAP releases, we roll out the release candidates which are the actual final versions. The RC for 9.7 is already live.

We usually don’t include changes between the EAP and RC releases. But some minor improvements might take place.

While we’re checking this issue on our side, could you please help us by answering a few questions?

1. Did the date 2023/03/20 appear after you selected March 20 in the calendar?
2. Did you try to enter the date manually in the specified format: d/MMM/yy (20/MAR/23)? Does it work for you?
Thank you!

Thank you once again for raising this issue! We’re working on the fix. For now, we recommend entering the date manually.
