# User UUID lookup by email address

Hi,

We need to find user UUID by email address in Bitbucket Cloud app to add them as reviewers to a PR.

But how can we find/access Atlassian Organization from Bitbucket workspace?  
And are the Atlassian user UUID even the same as in Bitbucket?

Any hints are welcome. Thx.

Any news about this?

There is a BB Cloud REST endpoint to get the email for the current user, but not  
for other users of a workspace: **api/2.0/workspaces/mibexsoftware/members**  
only yields nick names of BB Cloud users.

Our use case: in Code Owners for Bitbucket, we need to reference Bitbucket Cloud  
users from the `CODEOWNERS` file, e.g.

```auto
*.java @"Peter Muller" @"Doris Meyer"

```

Currently, we can only do that with the nickname/display name, which  
of course is not immutable and stable.

Alas, there is no user slug or email address we could use in Bitbucket Cloud.

Do you have any solution for this use case?
