Adding custom CQL fields to new Confluence Search

Hi

We just saw that Confluence 6.15 will introduce a new (CQL) filter in the enhanced search experience for Space Categories (Image link). In our app we’ve created some custom CQL fields and filters that are displayed in the filter section on the full search page (/dosearchsite.action). Is there any easy way to include these on the new search experience filter list?

As an update - I found that on the Preparing for Confluence 6.14 page, there’s a notion to extend ContentNameSearchSectionsProvider in order to customize search results. I haven’t found any documentation on how to actually do this, but I guess we’d be able to work it out. BUT if I’ve understood it correctly, this only adds custom search results. We’re (also) interested in adding filter options to the left sidebar ‘Filter By’ menu.
