Can I customize the issue number format?

Hi,

I have noticed that the project key in JIRA can be changed as a new format like as the regex “([A-Z]{2}[0-9]{2})” representation. May I also know can I change the by regex as below example?

I.E. XXX-1 = XXX-00000001
(Just add more zero prefix in the issue number)

Changing issue number format is still not possible. Currently we have many integrations that depend on the issue number format itself and allowing to update it is a major work on the integrated products. This feature not something our customers requests a lot so we are not prioritising this in near future.
On the other hand it is possible to change the pattern of project key Changing the project key format | Administering Jira applications Data Center and Server 9.5 | Atlassian Documentation. Probably changing project key can help you achieve what you need?
