Cannot set field using Python package

I have read many forum posts about this issue without getting to an answer. I can find the field I wish to set using “where is my field” and the information returned states:

Project and issue type scope

Field ‘Amount’ is in scope of the project ‘TX_V2’ and issue type ‘TX’
Field configuration

The ‘Amount’ field is enabled by the ‘Default Field Configuration’ field configuration associated with this issue.
Field Screen

The field ‘Amount’ is present on the screen ‘V2TX: Project Management Create Issue Screen’ configured for this issue.

Then in Python I get the error:
{"errorMessages":[],"errors":{"amount":"Field 'amount' cannot be set. It is not on the appropriate screen, or unknown."}}

Can you share the Python package you are using? And which version of it?

Can you share more on the calls you are making that? Any relevant code snippets of the code being run that is causing this issue?
