Hi, does anyone know when the Confluence page copy action started copying entity properties to the copied page? This is likely to impact apps that rely on entity properties to track status or metadata on pages.
We noticed this new behavior recently but can’t find any announcements in Atlassian change logs?
Opened an ECOHELP ticket ticket. However this was closed by Atlassian, as there were no API changes. According to the folks at ECOHELP, this is caused by a UI change.
Opened an normal support ticket about the UI change, but these support agents can’t see any changes in the UI relating to entity properties, as these are not visible in the UI.
While we’ve been discussing this, we also consulted internally with our developers to check if any recent changes were made to the copy feature in Confluence.
We learned that a new feature was introduced—based on user requests—that allows copying custom content properties when copying content.
However, since this change was not formally announced publicly, it has now been rolled back. You can inform your users that they should no longer experience this issue.
In summary, the behavior you observed was due to the new feature copying custom content properties, but this has been reversed.
Thank you for your understanding.
As a side note, I am cancelling today’s call since the issue has been resolved.
So there was an unannounced change in page copy behavior which is now rolled back.
