Hello,
I’m currently in the process of publishing my Forge app, which is a Confluence macro that calls Jira APIs. I submitted the app for publication on the Confluence Marketplace, but I received the following request:
“As your app requires an additional app on Jira which is required for the normal functioning of this app, please provide the detailed steps of installing the Jira app in your app documentation along with the steps required to make the connection.”
On my side I did this command line : ![]()
forge install -e production -p jira
I would like to clarify the correct procedure.
Since my Confluence app depends on Jira, do I also need to submit a separate Jira app for publication, or is there another recommended approach for cross‑product Forge apps?
I’ve seen that Atlassian is working on simplifying multi‑product app distribution (as mentioned here: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/jira/polaris/projects/ROADMAP/ideas/view/5062047?selectedIssue=ROADMAP-106 and https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/forge/app-compatibility/#multiple-app-compatibility--preview-), but it appears this will only apply to paid apps.
Given that this feature is expected to be released at the end of January, would you advise waiting for it, or should I proceed with the current publication process? My intention was to publish the app for free but I’m ok to publish a paid app.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
