Custom UI and Refreshed UI style

Hello !

We noticed on the Atlassian Design System documentation of the Atlaskit components, that there is now an option to view the rendering in different styles: Legacy, Refreshed or Custom.

The new Refreshed style is adopted by Jira when doing an Opt-in for the new Navigation.
For example, the badges which used to be rendered in pill shaped container, are now rendered in a rounded corner box.

Question:
When embedding a Custom UI module into a Forge application, how can we specify that we want the components to be rendered using the new Refreshed style ?

Hi @FabienLydoire , the refresh styling is controlled by internal feature flags so that it matches the same version that is used in the product. It cannot be controlled by Forge. When a product migrates over to the refreshed styles, the Atlassian Design System components in your Custom UI application should also automatically migrate to the new styles

It does not work. Custom UI Jira gadgets are still displaying the @atlaskit/badge in Legacy style.

Hi @FabienLydoire , I checked in with the relevant teams around this and the visual refresh rollout for platform capabilities such as Forge apps isn’t ready for production yet. The visual refresh changes is still in the process of rolling out to each product and platform capability. The teams will be finalising the full GA release sometime in FY26Q1 where you’ll automatically see the new styles in your Forge apps.

I can see the refreshed UI style using Forge Custom UI on some of our sites :slight_smile: .
