Data Residency migrations for Forge Remotes are now in Preview

Hey everyone,

Pleased to share that we’ve recently announced that Data Residency migrations for Forge Remotes are now available in preview.

Further documentation about this capability is available here.

A few notes for apps migrating from Connect to Forge with Realm Migrations:

  1. The migration CLI will automatically add the migration module to your app. If you’ve previously migrated your Connect descriptor to a Forge manifest, please ensure you add this module.
  2. All migration hooks for a Forge installation will be verified with a Forge Invocation Token. If you’re utilising Atlassian Connect Express or Atlassian Connect Spring Boot, the latest versions of these frameworks can help you in performing this.
  3. The default maxMigrationDurationHours has been reduced from 2 hours to 1.5 hours in readiness to support migration alongside apps on Forge. This can be overridden by setting a new value for this property in your Forge manifest.

As part of this change, we’ve also provided a new migrationId field for all data residency migrations to support improved tracking, monitoring and support of migrations.

Please leave any questions or comments you have below.

Cheers,
Sean
