Deprecation Notice: Removal of Single Email Address field in Jira Notification Schemes

Hi Atlassian Developer Community,

We are notifying you of an important change that will affect the Jira Notification Schemes and its ecosystem APIs. In our ongoing efforts to ensure the security of our users, we have decided to deprecate the Single Email Address field in Jira Notification Schemes for Jira Cloud.

The deprecation process will begin on 15 August 2023. After this date, the Single Email Address field will no longer be available in Jira Cloud, and any existing Single Email Address recipients will stop receiving emails. Please take the necessary steps to update your notification schemes and related integrations, and take a backup of current recipients before the deprecation date. Note that due to security reasons, the deprecation period will only be 2 months.

Is there a corresponding customer facing deprecation notice somewhere? Or can you share more about how you plan to handle customer comms here? Also what will happen to existing single email address values?

Thanks for the questions! The corresponding customer facing deprecation notice has been posted to the wider Atlassian community at Removing the Single Email Address field in Jira Notification Schemes. Any existing single email address values will stop receiving email notifications after the removal date, and we will clean up this data so we advise admins to take a backup if needed.
