Different font size UI Kit's Text vs AdfRenderer

Dear all,

we are currently migrating an app from Connect to Forge. Most macros use UI Kit components, but we noticed that the font size of UI Kit’s Text (and other components) appears larger than the text rendered inside the UI Kit AdfRenderer.

This results in a visually inconsistent appearance when both are used together.

Is this a known issue, and will it be addressed in a future update?

Best regards,
Andreas

Dear Andreas,

I am running into the exact same issue while working on my Forge app. It is quite frustrating to see this visual inconsistency between the standard UI Kit components (like Tabs or Text) and the text rendered inside the AdfRenderer.

I have already spent some time trying to find a workaround, experimenting with different component wrappers and text weights, but since Atlassian strictly blocks custom CSS and font-size adjustments in UI Kit, nothing seems to work for standardizing the look.

Did you manage to find any clever workaround for this? Or did you end up rewriting those specific macros in Custom UI just to get full control over the styling? I would really appreciate any insights you could share on how you handled this!

Best regards,
Jakub

Dear Jakub,

I also did not find a solution. I decided to inform the clients and keep the UI Kit (shifting the code to a Custom UI did not feel right here).

I opened a ticket here: Jira

Dear Andreas,

Thank you so much for such a quick reply!

I completely understand your decision to stick with UI Kit and just inform the clients. It seems like the most practical approach for now rather than forcing a Custom UI workaround.

Regarding the Jira ticket you linked, unfortunately, I don’t have access to it (it seems to be restricted or internal).

Is there any chance you could ask Atlassian support on your ticket to convert it into a public/external bug report and officially acknowledge it as a confirmed bug?

Having a public link would be incredibly helpful. It would allow me, my team, and other developers facing this exact issue to link to it, vote on it, and easily track Atlassian’s progress on a fix.

Thank you once again for your time and collaboration!

Best regards,
Jakub

Dear Jakub,

the link is public - just tried it in incognito mode.
