Until the Forge Marketplace is GA, I understand it is still possible to distribute Forge apps via the developer console. In every instance Atlassian states that the use case is for sharing the app “with users for testing and internal usage”. Please could Atlassian advise on the viability of distributing Forge apps via the developer console to a small number of customers in production?
Also Atlassian state that there is a emphasized text “temporary” limitation with the Forge Marketplace EAP whereby users won’t be able upgrade apps - end users must uninstall and reinstall to receive new versions. Will this be rectified by the time Forge Marketplace is GA? What will the experience be when fixed?
Many thanks,

This will be fixed within the next few weeks. The code changes are all complete and review and rollout are proceeding apace.
If you want to share the developer console link in the meantime with a handful of customers then please do. It just means that the customers have to trust you rather than the atlassian vetting process.

Thanks for the info. To clarify, will the Forge Marketplace be ready in the next few weeks or just the fix to the uninstall reinstall limitation of the EAP?
