Does reduction in app scope require admin approval ? (Connect)


So we know that increases to the app scope (eg Write to Delete) on Connect require an admin approval for the new version to be installed.

Is admin approval also required when we reduce the scope, eg Delete to Write ?

The current behaviour for Connect version upgrades relates to the addition of new scopes. If a new scope (even if lower) is added to the descriptor, a minor version update will occur and an admin will have to approve the update.

The above would not apply if removing a scope and then persisting on a lower scope. For example, moving from [READ, WRITE] to [READ] would be a deletion and not require admin approval to upgrade the app, however moving from [WRITE] to [READ] would.
