Extended timelines for Marketplace revenue share changes

I want to share an important update about the timeline for upcoming Marketplace revenue share changes. We recognize the significant effort and adaptations required as partners transition to Forge, support migrations, and evolve business models, and we are providing additional time to help partners focus on these investments.

What’s changing

Atlassian is extending the timeline for upcoming Marketplace revenue share rate increases, originally scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026. The new effective date for these changes is April 1, 2026, with subsequent increases adjusted accordingly.

The new dates are:

  • Forge apps (over $1M lifetime earnings):

    • 15% → 16%: April 1, 2026 (was Jan 1, 2026)

    • 16% → 17%: October 1, 2026 (was July 1, 2026)

  • Connect apps:

    • 15% → 20%: April 1, 2026 (was Jan 1, 2026)

    • 20% → 25%: October 1, 2026 (was July 1, 2026)

At the same time, we’ve accelerated changes that benefit partners. The 100% revenue share discount for qualifying Runs on Atlassian apps is now available as of October 2025. three months earlier than planned. All qualifying Forge apps will receive this incentive on January 1, 2026, as previously announced.

Thanks for sharing this update, @ChrisHemphill1 and for the effort to support us
How long will this revenue share model remain in place? Should we expect any changes for CY27?

Thank you @ChrisHemphill1, I feel this update shows you have heard the feedback that we and many other Marketplace app vendors have provided on the original timeline. It’s great to know we can have open and honest conversations, thanks for hearing us.

We are looking forward to continue to work with you and your teams and complete the migration to Forge together with them, aiming for no later than the new deadline but hopefully still a bit earlier.
