What is changing?
This change addresses a bug where new users added using the create user endpoint would sometimes get different application access to what the admin had configured via the UI
Why is it changing?
This is a bug that caused some new users to get more application access by default if Jira had inconsistent configuration in the database that is not accessible from the UI. More details on these tickets
What do I need to do?
You don’t need to do anything. However, if your app creates users using the create user endpoint and expects them to have certain access, they might not get that access by default if the site admin has chosen not to give them that access. If that happens, you can ask them to follow this guide to allow new users to get that access.
By when do I need to do it?
We will be progressively rolling out these changes starting on the 15th June, with all Jira cloud instances having the update by the 17th June.
