Has the process for deploying a new version changed?

Hi,

Yesterday I deployed a new version of our app using forge deploy -e production.
Been doing that regularly since 2022 and it has been about the same “dance”:

  • Deploy the production version
  • An automated meaningless “minor release” message gets emailed to everyone
  • Manually login to marketplace and edit the release note (and hope that someone reads it)

Yesterday, the update was deployed and when using the app, the new version was there.
But, on marketplace nothing was updated.

So, I figured there were some delay in the update and waited until today. Still nothing, so I went ahead and clicked the “Create version” button and created a new “Forge version”.
This worked nicely, pretty much like publishing a new version for DataCenter (or Server, if anyone still remembers  )

And as a bonus, it allowed for entering a proper release note before it getting emailed out! :tada:

So, does this mean that FRGE-842 Update a Forge app WITH meaningful release notes in the marketplace is resolved?

I have not seen any postings about this in the change logs though.

@Atlassian - any insights to share?

Thanks,
Fredrik

Hi @freatt Thanks for raising this request, we are investigating the issue with version not being visible in marketplace. We will need certain details to investigate this issue (appId, deployment time etc), is it possible for you to raise a support request at https://developer.atlassian.com/support please.

Thanks
