Having trouble following the Build a custom Jira Dashboard Gadget tutorial

For the following link: Forge Quest: Build a Jira Dashboard Gadget

On step: 1. Enter the URL for your Atlassian development site. For example example.atlassian.net. You can [view a list of your active sites at Atlassian administration]

I can’t seem to figure this step out on what the correct URL would be. I’m not sure if I would have to create a domain first on the portal, but when I do it says unverified or if I’m going in the wrong direction and by default I should already have one.

Hey @JonnyBoi thanks for the feedback and sorry to hear it was confusing for you!

It sounds like you might have missed the step to Sign up for a Developer Test Site when setting up your development environment. You can go ahead and do it now with these steps (you’ll get to choose your site url in the process):

  1. Go to Sign up - Try Atlassian Cloud | Atlassian and create a site using the email address associated with your Atlassian account.
  2. Once your site is ready, log in and complete the setup wizard.

The limits on the numbers of users you can create are as follows:

  • Confluence: 5 users
  • Jira Service Management: 1 agent
  • Jira Software and Jira Work Management: 5 users

I’m going to update the docs to make this a little clearer.
