How is App Signature handled for Jira 11 plugins?

Hi,

I’m currently working on upgrading a Jira Data Center plugin to be compatible with Jira 11.

One thing I’m not fully clear about is the App Signature process. For plugins that support Jira 11:

  • Does the developer need to handle App Signature in the source code?

  • Or is the App Signature automatically applied by Atlassian when uploading the app to the Marketplace (so we don’t need to handle it manually)?

If anyone has already gone through the Jira 11 upgrade process and dealt with App Signature, I’d really appreciate your advice or experience.

Atlassian will handle everything related to app signatures for Marketplace app. You only need to do something if your app is not on the Marketplace.
