Hi everyone,
We are excited to announce the Early Access Program (EAP) for the new global:ui module!
Historically, Forge app UI has been anchored to specific product contexts like a Jira issue or a Confluence page macro. With global:ui, we’re breaking those boundaries. This new module allows you to build end-to-end experiences that live directly on the Atlassian platform, enabling your app to have an independent UI from any Atlassian app.
What’s changing?
The global:ui module enables your app to:
-
Deliver a full-screen app experience: Create a dedicated workspace with side navigation that you control, while maintaining the familiar Atlassian top navigation for a seamless user experience.
-
Access via the app switcher: Your app can now appear in the Atlassian app switcher, making it easily accessible to users from anywhere within the Atlassian ecosystem.
With multi-app compatibility, TWG, agents and other new capabilities recently introduced, you’ll be able to create an immersive and rich app experience.
Why join the EAP?
This is a significant shift in how Forge apps can be shown on Atlassian. By joining the EAP, you’ll be among the first to explore these capabilities and help shape the future of the module with your feedback.
How to get started
-
Sign up: Access to the
global:uimodule is currently restricted to EAP, sign up here. -
Read the docs: Once you’re in, check out the documentation to understand the manifest schema and technical requirements.
-
Build & Feedback: Start experimenting! We’re eager to see what kind of “global” experiences you build.
We can’t wait to see how you use this to create more integrated and powerful tools,
