Introducing the Confluence Data Center changelog on DAC

Hi everyone. Many of you may already use the centralized DAC changelog to read announcements about all Atlassian products. For those of you who wish to see Confluence Data Center information only, you’ve had to filter by product.

Small announcement that you can now directly access the Confluence-only DAC changelog. This is just a filtered version of the DAC changelog we’ve set up for your convenience. You can access it from the header in the existing Confluence Data Center space in DAC.

Note that there’s no change to how we’ll be using this forum or the DAC changelog. We just wanted to let you known that you now have a more convenient place for all changelog announcements relating to Confluence Data Center. Cheers!

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but it would be :sparkles: amazing :sparkles: if there was a “breaking change” category that included all breaking changes made to the platform. I know there are “Deprecation Notice” and “Removal” categories, but they don’t seem to include all breaking changes.

The “Preparing for Confluence x” pages were much easier to scan for breaking changes, which is really all we need for apps that are just being maintained (not being actively developed).

Hi Dan. Can I just clarify what you’d find most useful?

  1. Would you be interested in breaking changes just for Confluence, or across each product?
  2. Are you thinking about a single page (like our Supported Platforms page), or a section updated within our Preparing for… page?

Note also that sometimes we cause breaking changes when a vulnerability requires it, and I’m not sure if we can publish that information right away.

  1. Jira DC and Confluence DC are the two I’m most interested in.
  2. I was imagining a “breaking change” “type” in the “Filter types” field here: https://developer.atlassian.com/changelog/

Thanks for the info Dan. Leave it with me. I’ll raise it internally for discussion.
