Introducing two-step verification login for Bamboo Data Center in version 10.1

Introducing two-step verification login for Bamboo Data Center in version 10.1

Following the previous community announcements, both for the Atlassian Data Center and specifically for Jira and Confluence, as well as the EAP program, we announce that Bamboo 10.1.0, coming in the second half of November, will be released with a new login page and two-step verification (2SV) capability.

Login page

This page is provided by the SSO for Atlassian Data Center plugin version 5.1.x or later. In this release, the plugin is integrated as a system plugin and cannot be uninstalled.

To disable 2SV and revert the Bamboo 10.1 login page to the legacy version (as in version 10.0.x and earlier), add the following system property at instance startup:
-Datlassian.authentication.legacy.mode=true.

2SV

This feature will be operational only if the legacy mode flag mentioned earlier is not set.

When 2SV is available, users can enroll directly through their profile page. For comprehensive guidance on managing two-step verification, please consult our Data Center manual: Manage Two-Step Verification for Your Atlassian Account.

By default, users are not required to enroll in 2SV. However, a system administrator can mandate 2SV enrollment specifically for users with system administration privileges. This will force administrators to set up two-step verification for their accounts using a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) application at the next login.
