Is Forge data residency available?

Hello Community  !

I’ve been following the instructions about Forge Data Residency to be able to PIN my forge application :

  • Created instances using the Cloud developer bundle.
  • Moved the instances to a specific region (EU)
  • No external domain defined in fetch in the manifest
  • No remote defined in the manifest
  • Using exclusively the Forge Storage API
  • Redeployed the app

Yet, my app remains in state “Not eligible” when I would expect it to be “PINNED”.

I understand that the

Staged rollout started for Forge hosted storage data residency on the 28 March 2024.

and I’m wondering if the rollout has not been performed yet for my app.

There is also mention of a Privacy & Security tab that I can not find anywhere in the settings:

At the end of the staged rollout, we also recommend updating the Privacy & Security tab for any app that exclusively uses Forge hosted storage for in-scope End User Data, to indicate that your app supports data residency.

My questions :

  1. Is Forge Data Residency already a thing ?
  2. Am I too impatient  or did I miss a configuration step ?

Thanks for your support !

Hi @FabienLydoire thanks for reaching out!

Your understanding of the criteria is correct. However, the staged rollout of data residency for Forge hosted storage is still in progress. Your site/installation should be updated with a pinned status over the next week. Once the rollout is at 100%, we will post an update on statuspage and publish a changelog. At that time, you will also be able to update the data residency option in the Privacy and Security tab. We will also provide updates in the statuspage if there are any changes to the rollout timelines. Thanks!

Great news @SushantBista ! Thanks for the clarification.

Yet, can you tell me why another of our Forge app not using the Storage API cannot be pinned?

I may not understand what the rollout of data residency for Forge hosted storage means. I thought any Forge App not using Storage API could already be pinned this day …
