Is Forge storage migrated during site-to-site transfer?

Does Atlassian’s site-to-site / cloud-to-cloud transfer migrate Forge storage data?

  • Source: instanceA.atlassian.net
  • Target: instanceB.atlassian.net
  • Same Forge app installed on both sites
  • @forge/kvs / storage:app

Do KVS records get automatically copied or relinked to the target app installation?

The transfer docs say “Marketplace app data” is not migrated, while the Forge storage docs say hosted storage is scoped per app installation. I can’t find anything that explicitly confirms whether Forge storage is included or excluded.

Are developers expected to roll custom export/import features despite the data being stored on Atlassian’s own platform?

Hi @nathanwaters, sorry for delayed response.

Forge currently does not support site-to-site migrations (C2C). This is something we are looking into, however its not in our immediate roadmap (we are prioritising support for backup/restore first). However, I have created a FRGE ticket to track this moving forward. Thanks.
