Is Last seen affected with API token access

Hi there
Is the last seen date on the user list on Jira affected if a user account has an API token that is used more frequently than the actual user account? Eg. if we have a service / system account and have a API token generated but last logged into that user account about 6 months ago BUT use the API token for API calls more frequently, does the last seen date change based on that OR only based on the actual login with that account?
