Jira 9.10 EAP 01 is here!

Hi, Developer Community! The first EAP for Jira 9.10 Data Center and Server is ready for testing.

Highlights:

  • Get a message about Jira reindex only when it’s really required

The message about the required Jira reindex will appear only after you make major configuration changes in your instance, like adding a custom field or changing the time tracking settings, and not after you simply restart Jira.

  • Obfuscate the plain text password in server.xml for Tomcat

As a Jira admin, you can now obfuscate the plain text password used in the server.xml file for Tomcat by using Jira’s password cipher method – basic encryption with Base64Cipher.

  • Check accessibility fixes for low-vision and keyboard-only users

This release includes an improved label description in the Kanban board and fixed navigation when creating an issue. Check out the full list of fixed issues

  • Create and edit linked issues with usual issue screens

A new Create linked issue screen is an out-of-the-box solution for creating linked issues between Jira Software projects or between Jira Software and Jira Service Management projects. It eliminates the need for complex workarounds with screen and field configurations.

  • Identify request types by groups in Jira Service Management

Group names associated with request types are now visible in the search results and recent requests sections of the portal and the global help center.

  • Try the new Customer Request Type field in Jira Service Management dashboard gadgets

The Customer Request Type field is available in dashboard gadgets. Include this field in gadgets and generate reports based on your request types.

  • Clone queues in Jira Service Management

As a project admin in Jira Service Management, you no longer need to create new queues from scratch. You can conveniently clone queues within the same project and customize these queues to meet specific needs.

  • Check out the new mobile features

We’re introducing a few updates in Jira Software and Jira Service Management for Mobile. First, you can easily log in to previously unavailable mobile instances, without connection or compatibility errors. Second, if you’re using the mobile applications on an iOS device, you can now attach files to issue comments and not only to the Description field.

Updates to supported platforms

In Jira 9.10, we’re adding support for PostgreSQL 15, SQL Server 2022, and PGpool-II. Learn more about supported platforms
