I think that DC custom fields use the velocity template file defined in the plugin that creates the custom field type. That would be in the atlassian-plugin.xml file. Probably a resource a “velocity” resource named “view” or “xml”. To change that would involve unpacking the plugin jar file, editing the velocity template file, repacking and deploying. So not an easy change.
