Latest on the rollout of parent field?

Hello @KonstantinK,
What’s the latest on the rollout delay of Jira expressions now support the "parent" field for issues in company-managed projects ?
Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon! As we said in our recent update, it will be released in the second half of 2022 or early 2023 (link). I think it will be released around December 2022, but I can’t commit to this date.
Thanks,
Konstantin

hi @KonstantinK any update on this? We’re just trying to make sure we don’t miss the change and also are quite keen to adopt it ASAP

Hi @jbevan! I’ll take a look and will aim to update you on that by the end of the week.

Hi @jbevan! Thanks for your patience.

This has been implemented, but inconsistent return values have been noticed in our internal environment. As this can potentially be a bug, the team decided not to proceed with the production rollout until this is investigated.

We have a ticket in our backlog to do it. I estimate this will be released in the first half of 2023.

Sorry again for the delay.

Thanks,
Konstantin

Thanks

Hello, has there been any update on this?

Hi @RomyGreenfield, thanks for your message.

At the moment, we have no new updates on it.

I will post here once we will have rolled it out.

Thanks,
Konstantin

I can see that there have been announcements on the change being rolled out here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Introducing-the-new-issue-search-to-Jira-Cloud-users/ba-p/2276375
Could I please check if there is an update?

Hi @GaifangLi, thanks for your patience with it.

This has not yet been released, as we decided to wait until we release the full support for the “Parent” field in Jira first.

We’re planning to work on this at the end of 2023. We will post on https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/changelog/ when this is ready.

Thanks,
Konstantin

Hi @KonstantinK,

While we are waiting for the rollout for this feature, can the documentation be updated to reflect that the issue.parent field is not currently available?

Right now, the type reference lists the parent field without any hint that the rollout has been delayed and the field is not yet available.

Thanks,
Oliver
