Hi Developer Community,
I’m reaching out today to let you know that the Jira team has designated Jira Software 8.13 and Jira Service Desk 4.13 to be Long Term Support (LTS) releases (formerly known as Enterprise releases), and I wanted to give you a heads up before we begin marketing these releases to customers the week of Oct 12, 2020.
We expect a lot of upgrades to these versions as many of our largest customers who are on the most recent LTS releases, Jira Software 8.5 and 7.13 and Jira Service Desk 4.5 and 3.16, will likely land on 8.13/4.13.
What do I need to do as a vendor?
The Jira Software 8.13 / Jira Service Desk 4.13 LTS releases are functionally like any other feature version, so you don’t need to do anything differently.
While no new features are introduced in LTS releases, we recommend you download the EAPs here to test compatibility as there will be many fixes introduced between Jira 8.12/4.12 and 8.13/4.13. Also, be sure to take a look at our Preparing for Jira Software 8.13 guide to find out what you need to do to make your app compatible. We’ll update that page regularly, so keep an eye on it to see any changes.
