On February 22nd, we announced the availability of new scopes for Forge and OAuth 2.0 (3LO) apps. Following this announcement, we’ve had several conversations with developers and have uncovered cases where customers have been negatively impacted by their app transitioning from old scopes to new scopes.
We have heard your feedback, and have paused the deprecation of old scopes and removed the requirement to transition your app from old to new scopes by August 23rd, 2022.
As we work on improving the new scopes solution in collaboration with partners, your Forge or 3LO app(s) can use either the classic or the new scopes. Documentation for both sets of scopes will continue to be available for you to reference. For those that haven’t adopted new scopes yet, please keep using old scopes - we’ll let you know when you can start transitioning. Note that there is no need to roll back to old scopes if you have adopted the new scopes already.
Feel free to comment on this post with questions, or just watch the change logs for updates.
Hi @Grzegorz.Tanczyk - at the moment we don’t have any plans to make Jira Software work with Classic Scopes. While our teams are working on the changes to the release of the new scopes, if you don’t need to use Jira Software, we’d recommend continuing to use your existing scopes - however you can continue moving to new scopes now if you need to.
Hi @andreas.schmidt yes we would like to get our partners to give us feedback during the review process so we can validate our changes early. Would you be open to take part in that process?
