One of the key challenges with time-bound updates is the processes which have been established by larger, enterprise customers. We have seen circumstances where customers review updates periodically (i.e. every month, 3 months, 6 months, etc.) and may have significant or robust reviews associated with them; particularly where an elevation in permissions has occurred.

I have to stress here, unfortunately, that this is a bit of a red herring: in my experience major upgrades (due to scope changes) and real, semantic major upgrades that change the App’s functionality are quite independent. I can basically retract all functionality of an App, or change most of what the App does, as a minor upgrade where the customers cannot opt-out. So this review process would be too late in that sense there, anyway. Fwiw, having a maximum of 6 months seems fine to me.
