Timebomb license rejected as "This license is invalid" on Jira Software Data Center 11.0.0

Hi,

Our Jira Software Data Center test instance license expired, and we’re unable to reactivate it using the timebomb licenses from the docs page.

Environment:

  • Jira Software Data Center 11.0.0
  • License type shown: Commercial (Data Center), Developer Test License

What we tried:
We applied the “10 user Jira Software Data Center license, expires in 3 hours” key from:

Result:
Jira rejects it with: “The license could not be installed. This license is invalid. Please double-check that you have entered it correctly, and contact Support if the issue continues.”

We copied the key fresh using the Copy button on the docs page, so it’s not a paste/formatting issue.

Questions:

  1. Are the timebomb licenses on that page still supported on Jira 11.x Data Center?
  2. If not, what is the recommended way to obtain a developer/test license for a Jira Software Data Center 11.0.0 instance?

Hi!

I can’t comment on the timebomb license no longer working, but I can provide you with an alternative: you can request 30-day unlimited user DC licenses for all products and apps as part of the annual DC app approval testing requirement.

If you do not already have an ECOHELP ticket for your annual app approval, you can create a new one here: Jira Service Management. Make sure to mention that you are requesting a DC license for testing

If you already have an ECOHELP ticket, just add a new comment requesting for a DC license for testing.
