Unannounced Change to Page Version History removed Page Version

Hi all,

A couple of our customers raised an urgent concern that they can no longer see the Page Versions of their Confluence Pages. It appears Atlassian changed the page version view and removed the page version numbers for ALL historical page versions.

Our customers in medical and regulatory sectors approve specific versions of the pages and with this change the page version is on longer visible for audit and review. They are extremely concerned about Confluence.

Questions

  1. Did we miss the announcement on this major UX change or did Atlassian decide not to notify anyone?
  2. The new historical view attempts to render macros when viewing a historical page version. This is breaking at least some of our dynamic macros. Where was the development announcement?
  3. Who do we contact in Atlassian to raise concerns over this unannounced and breaking UX change?

Sincerely

Chris Cairns

It looks like this was just announced yesterday in the Atlassian Cloud changelog: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2026/02/atlassian-cloud-changes-feb-16-to-feb-23-2026#AtlassianCloudchangesFeb16toFeb23,2026-confluence

This is still rolling out. Perhaps a ticket to Atlassian Support could get them to pause the rollout?

Also, I’m curious if the old version-specific URLs (bookmarks) remain the same in the new feature?

We raised an ECOHELP on behalf of our customers. Will see if Atlassian is willing to restore the missing version field.
