/wiki/rest/api/content or rest/api/content

Hi!
What is the difference of using the rest/api/content url in comparison to adding ‘wiki’ in the beginning? We have earlier (2-3 years ago) used the Jira Server platform REST API, and I see that we used our jira url as base url for requests to this endpoint. However, when I check the documentation link, the endpoint is not specified, instead I find it in the Confluence REST API documentation, but without the wiki in the beginning.

Is it possible to continue using only the JIRA API, with the /wiki/rest/api/content to communicate with our Confluence, or do we also need the Confluence Server API?

Thank you in advance, Best regards Felicia
