If you see a different screen, the new experience may not be available for your Forge app at this time. This may be because your users are running on multiple versions of your app and one of the versions isn’t compatible with the new experience. See this documentation to know how to use the previous Logs screen.
And then there’s the suggestion to upgrade all installation to get the “new experience”.
However, with an app built with Forge on the marketplace, we have the little problem of customers who does not upgrade their installs. The users may not even be aware of the availability of an upgrade. Given the fact that it is close to impossible to reach out to all customers and get them to upgrade, we are stuck.
So, if I understand this correctly, we will never see the “new experience”?
And thus, the “old experience” will be maintained indefinitely?
Have you actually tried this or are you asking based on the docs alone? IIRC that documentation is slightly outdated and the team managed to enable the new experience even for most/all apps that fall under the described restrictions (I’ve seen some comms around that somewhere, but am unable to find it).
At least I can confirm that this has been the case for all our own apps, which initially suffered from those restrictions, but have received the new log experience regardless over time.
Hello @freatt, we’ve made the changes in June end. We will be able to enable the new interface for all apps by July end so that they have 30 days worth of logs available.
We can also enable the new interface for your app(s) (with 16 days of July data) if that is fine. Please share your app ID if you are interested in this option.
Sure, when searching through the logs, I would like to filter out those that are not relevant, such as errors or logs resulting from user misconfigurations. We identify such logs, and while we sometimes want to monitor them, in other cases they just obscure the view. We don’t want to miss important information, so hiding already identified entries would be helpful.
