We have been working on addressing your feedback and here’s an update:
Accessibility compliant colours in charts - We are updating Sales, Evaluation, Cloud Conversion, Renewals, Churn reports with 4 different colors that are compliant with accessibility norms around most forms of color-blindness. We are ready with the fix and we will roll this out next week.
One exception is the feedback report which consists of 11 different information sets and we are still trying to figure out our options around this problem. All other reports like sales, evaluations, etc. are covered by the use of only 4 colors. The other exception is monochromacy (complete color-blindness). Our next priority is to explore patterns or shapes in addition to colors to bring in further differentiation.
Transactions expand / collapse row behaviour - Partners can now expand/collapse the transaction row by clicking anywhere on it. This fix has already been rolled out.
Optimising UI for large screens - We’re working on this and you can expect a fix by mid-May, 2023.
In addition to this, we have enabled sorting for ‘Net $ amount’ column in the transactions table based on other feedback we have received.
Do let us know if you have any feedback or suggestions regarding the proposed fixes.
I would like to assure you that we take your feedback very seriously. Sorry again that our communication was off the mark last time and going forward we would like to ensure that we communicate more clearly and often. We’ll keep you posted on further developments. Thanks!
@HydenLopez I noticed that now new reports are rendered with a fixed width and not using the full window width. But there is a bug that the total value box width is still calculated based on the window width, and therefore not all values are visible. You need to click “See all” to show them:
As mentioned in our previous communication, we are introducing patterns in all our chart visualizations. Here are the details of this update:
Chart patterns - By combining variations in colour, stroke, and dots, we have created a few unique line patterns. Incorporating these patterns into our charts will introduce an additional level of distinction beyond just colour.
Toggle chart patterns - Partners can now choose to enable/disable patterns in chart.
Pattern enable = “Show charts with line patterns” and Pattern disable = “Show charts without line patterns“.
The colour relations remains the same with/without patterns. Eg. colour used for cloud sales will remain same in both scenarios.
Exception- The above functionality is applicable to all reports except for the Feedback report. Disabling patterns in the Feedback report may cause accessibility issues if we rely solely on colours to distinguish between 8-11 information sets.
Feedback report experience: To simplify the consumption of Feedback report, we are limiting the number of visualizations in the chart.
By default, the chart displays only the “top 5 reasons” based on the frequency of feedback within a selected date range.
We have also introduced a section named “Not charted on graph” in the tooltip which includes rest of the reasons. This gives partners a complete picture of the churn reasons as well as an affordance that there are additional reasons that can be visualized.
We would appreciate your feedback or suggestions regarding the proposed experience.
With this update we are planning to release the new reports soon to all the partners. As communicated previously, the new experience will be released on an opt-in basis and partners can always toggle between old & new experience during the trial period. The trial period will run for 90 days from the date of launch. After that, the old experience will be sunsetted and all partners will be transitioned to the new experience. All further improvements & updates will be built on the new experience.
We would like to assure you again that we have taken your feedback very seriously. Kindly continue to share your concerns via the in-product feedback loop. This gives us the ability to understand, track and make incremental changes systematically.
Atlassian may have communicated previously that her plan was to sunset after 90 days, but it failed to address multiple questions from partners on the process with regard to go/no-go.
We asked for an overview of all issues raised, either through the in-product feedback loop, ECOHELP tickets or through CDAC and how they were addressed. You know, open company, no BS? Atlassian never responded.
Simply launching an half-baked product, which had multiple rounds of customers saying it wasn’t good enough (the trust factor is already subzero) and saying that the old experience is sunset after 90 days without any public accountability with regard to the feedback you received is not only extremely bad stakeholder management, it is just slap in the face of those marketplace partners that have to work with the interface on a daily basis.
Atlassian, do better.
PS. you can be mad at me for being so persistent about this, but keep in mind that I’m only holding Atlassian to her own standards. You are failing you own stakeholder management best practices . Don’t shoot the messenger.
Thank you for the candid feedback and for vocalising your experience. While it is a top priority of ours to provide you with the best possible tools and user experience, we acknowledge that this release had shortcomings that needed fixing.
Unfortunately, during the soft launch, we encountered hiccups that were also pointed out in your feedback. Throughout this launch, we have received and considered Partner feedback from the community and in-product feedback loop. In future, we will enhance transparency so the entire community is aware of our analysis and action plan.
Here is the updated information for the issues reported and their status:
We would also like to share important clarifications on the sunset plan:
Partners will have a 90-day trial period for the new experience starting Aug 31, 2023. During this timeframe, partners can provide feedback, report issues, or raise concerns regarding parity between the new and old experience, or any other matters.
We will evaluate all feedback and work with partners on a case by case basis to address the issues before retiring the old version.
We invite you to explore the new experience and provide your valuable feedback. We are dedicated to our ongoing partnership, value your support, and are committed to enhancing your experience based on your input.
All screens with tabular data are displayed in some kind of nested div thing rather than a simple HTML table. The columns do not actually line up unless they have the exact same contents.
As you can see, the columns do not align correctly. I’m on my phone atm, so it’s even more of a disaster than when viewed on a desktop browser.
I’ve actually reverted to the old experience after living with this nightmare for a month or so, and can honestly say that the old experience is just incredible in comparison.
I like the colours in the new experience though. That’s useful.
