Greetings,
I am currently working on recreating the Cloud Annual Renewals Report using the Transactions data obtained from the REST APIs. However, I am encountering discrepancies in the numbers. While some figures are close, others show significant differences that cannot be overlooked.
Could you please clarify how renewal opportunities and renewals are calculated?
Based on my understanding of annual renewals:
- If Company X purchased App A on Cloud in 2017, this would create a renewal opportunity at the maintenance end date but not a renewal, as it is the initial purchase.
- If the same company made additional purchases of the same app and hosting in 2018 and 2019, these would be considered renewals for 2018 and 2019, with renewal opportunities arising from each new annual purchase.
Is my understanding correct, or am I missing something?
I am doing this in order to get the Renewals for DC (If I recreate the cloud renewals, then I can just filter on hosting to get it for DC), since there is no API for it.
Thank you for your time and considerations,
Best regards,
Iheb Kharab
