Has anyone else gotten a “App Name Violation” notification completely out of nowhere, stating that your app is about to be removed from the Marketplace? Apparently, ECOHELP had raised a ticket with us in October, but we didn’t receive a single email notification about it until today (see proof below).
Our app also doesn’t breach the guidelines, it’s just been picked up by some automatic scanner because it contains the word “App” (App Maker for Jira), even though it’s entirely unrelated to the way the guidelines indicate you’re not meant to use. We explicitly made sure to follow the “{App name} for {Atlassian Product}” structure, but now are being told that we’re in breach because our “Low code app builder” uses the word “App” in the title.
Apologies for posting this here, I’ve replied on the ECOHELP, but am a little-bit panicked because we genuinely didn’t receive ANY of the 4-5 notifications that should have come from the ECOHELP ticket, and Atlassian is saying they’re going to hard block our app!
You’ll very likely need to change it. I tried reasoning with them on renaming rules that made zero logical sense and as a result I have app names that are unreadable.
Best to just go into the listing and rename the app until the API automatically allows it.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are currently investigating why you did not receive the notification earlier, despite the ticket being created at the end of September. Regarding the flagging of your app, I will provide further details in the corresponding ECOHELP ticket.
Just dropping in here to say that I’ve experienced a similar issue where an ECOHELP ticket was raised with me but I was not notified until a subsequent comment in the ticket which tagged my user.
Seems that this might be a common issue with ECOHELP tickets raised by Atlassian with partners.
